News stories about cybertheft, counterfeiting, piracy and corruption are a constant reminder of the risks associated with working in a global marketplace.
To help companies mitigate the risks of IP theft and corruption, CREATe.org has launched two services:
CREATe Leading Practices for IP Protection
CREATe Leading Practices for Anti-Corruption
Each is a three-step program which includes:
Self-assessment: an online Q&A which benchmarks the practices in place;
Independent evaluation: a discussion with a CREATe expert to assess practices; and
An improvement plan: resources, tools and training to help improve compliance
CREATe Leading Practices is currently being used by companies looking to assess their own systems and also by multinationals who have asked 10 – 20 of their supply chain or business partners to take the assessment.
Both programs are available in English, Chinese and Brazilian Portuguese. Companies from China, India, Brazil, Japan, Europe and the US are currently in the pilot. The companies represent aviation, information technology, electronics, consumer goods and other industries.
