Defense contractors and their suppliers are facing a December 31, 2017 deadline to implement NIST SP 800-171 cyber safeguards to protect “Covered Defense Information” under the new Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) 252.204-2012.

Bob Metzger, of the Washington office of Rogers Joseph O’Donnell, PC, and a member of the Defense Science Board Cyber/Supply Chain Study, has produced new materials to assist with compliance.  Now available to download is a recent “Off the Shelf” interview in which Roger Waldron (President of the Coalition for Government Procurement) and Bob discuss the DFARS and how companies should respond.

Additionally, Metzger has published a 2-part analysis taking on 20 tough questions about the DFARS and SP 800-171 requirements. The DFARS Q&A Part 1 is located here; and the DFARS Q&A Part II is located here.
