Developing an effective program to deter, detect and remediate corruption can be daunting — regardless of the size of the company or the markets in which it operates. There’s no lack of information on what comprises an effective anti-corruption compliance program and much of it converges. That is why CREATe developed our Anti-Corruption Guideline Reference, which summarizes and simplifies nine internationally-recognized standards and leading practices that describe an effective anti-corruption program. This resource has been a useful tool for companies to build an effective program that will satisfy enforcement expectations across the globe.
The most recent update to this reference includes guidance from ISO 37001:2016 Anti-bribery Management Systems – Requirements with Guidance for Use. ISO 37001 was published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in October 2016 and is the first international, certifiable standard for anti-bribery management systems. For more information on the ISO standard, see CREATe’s recent primer, “An Overview of the ISO 37001 Anti-Bribery Management Systems Standard.”
